"Ganchos for Men and Women"
Ganchos are one of the icons of Argentine Tango. They are a unique
feature of this dance.
Ganchos are one of the moves that made Argentine Tango be admired all
over the world. In fact, many people decided to try Argentine Tango
because of the gracefulness of this move. Nowadays, some people try to
forbid or avoid this type of move in social dancing. We know it is
important to show respect towards the other couples dancing on the dance
floor, however, there are many ganchos that can be adapted to social
dancing.
We have discovered a variety of ganchos and many different ways to do
them. Here you will learn some of the nicest ganchos.
Class 1: 8:pm- First Part. Structure, leading and directions.
Class 2: 9:pm-Second Part. Beginning and end of turns, combinations with
other moves, improvisation.
*May 5
"Crosses Vals ( Waltz) and Vals Criollo"
It is important to know them so you can dance to their tune. In contrast
with Wienes Walz , crossed Vals ( waltz) has some certain
characteristics that make it unique. It differs from traditional tango
because of its beat and musicality.
It is important for a dancer to know what makes the difference between
tango, waltz and milonga as well as which are the moves preferred by the
masters in order to interpret these types of music.
If you don't know this difference it would be difficult for people to
know whether you are dancing tango, waltz or something else.
Here you will learn:
* The key to stepping in time
* Most common moves
* Pause and transitions
* Different styles of embrace used in waltz
Class 1: 8:pm- Simple time and stress. Exercises and sequences.
Class 2:9:pm- Improvisation and choice of moves for waltz.
*May 12
"Different Orchestra Styles"
It is important to know which style suits each orchestra in a better
way. It is important to master this if you want to become a good dancer
or a master. Just as choosing different types of clothes and colors to
match them in a nice way, good taste and elegance are characteristics of
Argentine Tango.
Here you will learn.
* Which style, type of embrace, and which type of moves suits each
orchestra better
* How to interpret the same move with different musical styles
Class 1:8:pm- Types of embrace and rhythmic differences.
Class 2:9:pm- Choosing and adapting sequences to different orchestra styles
*May 19
"Back sacadas for men and women"
The challenge to move from intermediate to advanced level. Sacadas can
be a very simple or a very complicated move. How ?
Back sacadas show us how good our base technique is. Without an
appropriate or good base this type of move can be very difficult and
even impossible to do.
In this type of move, technique is very important. I know many students
who have been hitting their partners ankles for years every time they
try to do a sacada. There certainly comes a point when they do not want
to try it anymore. However, I can tell you the secret to solve this
problem quite easily.
When I carried out my first performance in Mar del Plata, I found that
the most difficult move I had to make was the back sacada. Why ? Because
I hit my partner's ankle. >From that moment on my challenge began. I did
not want that to happen again. Discovering its technique took me a few
years, teach it will take only a few minutes.
Class 1: 8:pm-Pivot, exercises for dissociation. Back sacada for men.
Class 2: 9:pm-Technique for sacadas for women. Combinations.
